Don Kanfer
A Life of Service. A Voice for District 29.
Don Kanfer has called the DeLand area home since 1986. A semi-retired veterinarian, longtime Rotarian, and former Volusia Soil and Water Conservation District supervisor, Don has spent decades working, serving, and putting down roots in the community.
He and his wife, Connie, have lived in the same home since 2005. Away from work and campaigning, Don enjoys riding motorcycles, metal detecting, and playing trivia.
Now, he’s ready to bring that same commitment to service to Tallahassee.

Showing Up
For Don, service has never been about holding office. It has been about showing up when people need someone.
Over decades as a veterinarian, Don has met thousands of families throughout DeLand and the surrounding rural communities. He has seen firsthand what it looks like when people are doing everything they can but still can’t afford the help they need and whenever possible, he has stepped in to help.
From providing veterinary care to people with few other options to years of service through Rotary and his community, Don has always believed that doing the right thing matters simply because it is the right thing to do.
That same belief is what he wants to bring to Tallahassee.

Why I’m
Running
Don isn’t a career politician. He’s a fellow citizen who has called the DeLand area home since 1986. After decades of living, working, and serving in this community, he became tired of watching decisions made in Tallahassee that don’t reflect the needs of the people back home.
Don and his wife, Connie, have built their life here. When he’s not working or campaigning, they enjoy riding motorcycles, metal detecting, and playing trivia.
Now, Don believes it’s time to stop simply complaining about what’s wrong and start doing something about it.
