He wants an economy where people who work hard can actually get ahead and where the benefits of growth are shared by the communities experiencing its costs.

Public Education
Public dollars should support strong public schools.
Don is concerned about the amount of state funding being directed toward voucher programs and the impact that has on Florida's public schools.
He also wants to make education beyond high school more affordable through state scholarship opportunities, programs that encourage strong academic performance, and greater access to adult education.

Insurance Reform
Floridians deserve an insurance system that works for them.
Don supports reforming Florida's no-fault insurance system and strengthening protections for policyholders.
When legitimate claims are delayed, he believes payments should date back to the original incident with interest and that insurers should face consequences for bad-faith negotiations and unnecessary delays.
Restore local gov’t. power to regulate land use and development.”
Local Control
Our communities should have a say in their own future.
Don wants to reverse the state's takeover of development authority and restore the ability of local governments to regulate land use and development.
He believes the people who actually live in our communities are better positioned to understand their needs than politicians making decisions for them from Tallahassee.

Hard work should still provide a path to a better life.
Don believes too many skilled and working people are laboring hard while continuing to lose ground financially.
He wants Florida's economic growth to improve people's quality of life and prevent social and environmental problems before they happen, not leave ordinary residents carrying the costs of growth while prosperity primarily benefits those at the top.

Elections & Voting
Voters should choose their representatives, not the other way around.
Don wants to strengthen Florida's election systems, protect voting rights, and make those protections more difficult for politicians to take away.
He also opposes manipulating district boundaries for political advantage. Don believes voting districts should keep communities with shared interests together so their representatives can effectively advocate for them.
We should use our growth to prevent social & environmental problems, not react to them after the fact.”
Quality of Life
Strong communities take care of the problems happening in their own backyard.
Don believes Florida needs to take a more realistic approach to homelessness, including recognizing the role that serious mental illness can play and considering shelters and supportive or transitional housing for people who cannot live independently.
His broader quality-of-life priorities also include addressing animal abandonment, strengthening right-to-repair protections, addressing theft of services, and restoring vaccine requirements for schools while limiting exemptions.
